REVIEW: Sky War's Dunkirk Update 1.4 - Gameplay Tweaks

There are a few gameplay tweaks that we're going to share today. It's been an interesting journey for Sky War and we're excited about some of the changes released recently. If you've not read our post about the new Dunkirk ship, be sure to check that one out next. ENEMY VELOCITY First and foremost is a change to the enemy velocity and speed in the maps. In playtesting, we've noticed that just about everyone is ready to toss their phone in frustration at the inhuman speed of the opposing enemy forces. To that end, we've throttled the speed of the enemy ships. Not all of them, but enough ships to change the nature of the game away from twitch play to maze solving. if you're a casual gamer, the upcoming 1.4 update is for you. RED ARROW WARNINGS There are some enemies that you need just a little bit more time to prep for. Want to know more about the REMOVAL of pervasive advertising in the 1.4 update of Sky Wars? Read on, here. In this post we hear from the development team's thoughts on why advertising was completely rethought in Sky Wars. Hello there! There's a balancing act in mobile games. On the one hand, as a player you expect and tolerate a certain amount of intrusiveness for a free game. If it doesn't support IAP, most likely the game has advertising. If the advertising is done well, then you shouldn't even notice. If it's not done well, then you're like Buzz and Woody here: It's not fun to work on skill mastery of a level, only to experience both crushing defeat and then be presented an ad immediately after being blown to pieces. One of our first steps to making Sky War just a better game was to go back to basics and look at what makes it fun. Is it fun watching advertisements on every screen? SKY WARS 1.4 - Gift Box!

Let's go over the new GIFT available to Sky Wars players. It'll be available as part of the 1.4 update launching late July, 2017 and part of what we're calling "The DUNKIRK Update". NEW GIFT CENTER Here's how the new gift center works. It costs nothing to try your hand for a mystery crate. Opening a mystery crate will have the chance of presenting an advertisement. If the advertisement shows, participate with the advertiser and we'll increase your odds of winning sweet loot from the mystery box. What kind of sweet loot? How about a health regenerating plane, 5,000 in in-game currency, and a number of other sweet rewards? Get ready. 1.4 DUNKIRK UPDATE is coming soon! "What if we patched Sky Wars, removed nearly all the advertising and focused in on just making the game more fun to play?"  The Dunkirk Update (patch 1.4 for Airplane Cold War Flight Simulator - Air Force Combat Shoot'em Up Game ) brings you three achievements: Removes advertising in all the annoying areas and puts in somewhere that makes sense Fixes and adjusts core gameplay to improve the fun factor Adds new content! We've been talking and we'll keep talking about a lot of the new content we're adding to Sky War. What better way to celebrate the release of The DUNKIRK MOVIE than with our own homage. Introducing the newest available playable plane: Dunkirk! We've placed the ship in the loot crate as a special drop. You have a one in ten chance that any crate you open will contain this ship. Prefer to acquire it with your loot? It's available for purchase in the store. The Dunkirk features a unique special ability to reinforce the idea of "heavy armor". In addition to being the highest class armor for it's tier of ship, the Dunkirk features HEALTH REGENERATION ! We're working hard on this update to our newly acquired game, Sky War: Airplane Cold War Flight Simulator! In this FREE update to the popular top-down 2D shooter for iOS, we introduce our newest combat-ready plane THE DUNKIRK . The Dunkirk is available as a special reward from our new "Gift" center addition to the game. We'll be talking more about that this week.
